First Train Ride!

Nico, his Papa, and a couple of friends all boarded the Peter Cottontail Express yesterday for a short train ride down the tracks and back. He loved it! Not so much interested in the Easter Bunny that came to visit during the ride but he loved the train ride itself and could have ridden it all day given the opportunity.
I was just so glad he was able to do this, I've wanted to take him on a train ride for so long. Thomas has always been a favorite of his.

The First Year is Half Over Already...

Happy 6 months little guy! Time seems to go so much faster with child number 2 than I remember when Nico was a baby.
We are now creeping backwards, getting up on our knees and trying to crawl forwards. Loving baby food and not loving formula as much. Talking babble, such as Dadadada.
Still waiting on some teeth but drooling like maybe all of them will come in at once :)
Gabe is into everything, he wants to get his hands on anything in his line of vision. He's a happy man all the time UNLESS he's tired and then you better watch out!
He sits up now by himself for longer periods of time and is still totally in love with his older bro!

Ironic

I was just telling some friends of mine that Nicolas has never come to our bed in the middle of the night to sleep. Well, that night what do ya know, I'm carrying my 3 year old to bed with us since he was scared of something in his room at 3am. At first I was so tired and just wanted him to come with us to be able to lay back down and rest. Then after he snuggled up in between Oz and me, I realized, although I'll be tired in the morning, and I wouldn't want to do this every day it was kinda nice. He held my hand and pretended to be alseep by breathing deeply. It was really cute to watch him and extra special to have the middle of the night cuddle.
Since having a little baby again in the house some of the times Nico and I could just be together have diminished; this middle of the night snuggle reminded me just how much I love to be with him.
Tonight Nico, as much as I loved it last night, please stay in your bed so mommy and daddy can sleep :)

You Just Have To Laugh

This morning was just one of those moments where you just have to sit back and laugh at the situation. Our dog woke me at 3am acting completely and I mean utterly insane over a thunderstorm. She continued along with the storms until it was time to wake up for the day. Getting up all tired from the bad night of sleep and still dealing with a cold I go to wake Nicolas. Opps, Oz forgot to put a pull-up on Nico and he has gone potty all over himself and the bed.
I get that all cleaned up and then the dog goes potty on the floor, get that taken care of and the dog goes again, take care of that and go to get Gabe who has spit up all over himself and his bouncy seat. Boy that was enough bodily fluids for one day!
Really all I could do was sit down and laugh and watch Gabe give me a huge smile and Nico be his sweet usual self. Here is picture of the little brother admiring his older brother playing, a daily occurrence in our house.

5 months!

Time is flying right on by and I don't even know where it's going, little G man is already 5 months old! So far his big milestones have been getting closer and closer to sitting up by himself, and his biggest; rolling over from his back to his stomach. He mastered going from his stomach to has back last month and woke us up every 2 hours all night stuck and needing to be put back on his tummy. Now that he can do it himself, the house is sleeping much better!

We've started some solids, he's pretty indifferent about them which is the complete opposite of when Nico was a baby. Nico fell head over heels for solids right away, Gabriel is taking his time I guess.

Unless he's tired, Gabriel is just a happy litttle drooly guy in love with his older brother and puppy dogs. He has really been a joy!

He had a fun time getting out to Barnes and Noble for a not so great storyteller's reading of a Dr Suess book. Nico sat there interested even though the lady reading have the most monotone voice I've ever heard.
Afterwards we had some super yummy pizza with friends.
