Best Friends

Nicolas told me last night while he was taking a bath that he and I are best friends. He said, "you're my bests friends Mommy, I love you!"
I wish he would think of me as his best friend forever but I know these days are short...I'll enjoy it while I have it!

Since he's turned 3 so much has changed, I'm quickly losing my baby and seeing more and more a little boy start to come out. I've really enjoyed this age so far, it's been a favorite.

Baptism

We had a wonderful day for the baptism of Gabe. My parents and sister's family were able to make the drive which meant so much to us. Gabriel decided to sleep all night and wake up rested and ready for his big debut at church that morning. Minus the spit up down my arm everything went perfectly and with no tears :)
Later we got food ready and had a little bash for the man to celebrate. The weather was perfect and Nicolas spent almost the whole afternoon outside with his buddies.

Valentines Day

I had gone out to dinner with a friend the evening before Valentines Day. When I got home I got Nico ready for bed and he started telling me what he and Papa did while I was away. He said oh Mommy Happy Birthday (instead of valentines day :) We got you lots of stuff, a balloon, chocolates, oh Mommy you will love it!
I was laughing so hard, this was the first time that he had gotten so excited about a present for someone but it was also the first time he totally blew the surprise, it was so cute. I loved seeing the excitement in his face. The next morning I may have known exactly what I was getting but it made it just that much more special.

Swim Lessons

Nico had been talking about swim lessons ever since I first metioned it a few weeks back when I signed him up. Finally the day came for the first lesson; he was SUPER excited! The whole way there he said "Mommy, I'm so excited to swim!"
He wasn't the best at paying attention to the teachers but he sure had a great time! He is NOT scared of the water at all so I hope these classes help him learn how to swim better.
My little guy is growing up!

Firsts for both boys

Gabriel is starting the world of real food, or at least baby food. Today we tried sweet potatoes, yummy! He did a great job eating them, he isn't the intense eater that Nico was but he is doing pretty good.

Today Nico had to go potty and just got up, went to the bathroom, shut the door, and did his business without telling me a thing, it was amazing!
He also went and got his cup, walked over to the fridge and got water himself, wow! He's growing up!

Bathtime

We tried to put both boys in the bath tonight just to hurry the process along a little. I can't wait for Gabriel to be able to sit up on his own in the tub, I think the two of them will have fun and it will make bath time so much easier.
Nico wasn't sure he wanted to share his tub tonight though? Not too sure about this whole brother thing sometimes :)

No more 20 something's for this Mommy, it really only seems right I feel like I turned 30 when I had Nicolas I think :)

Anyway, Nicolas told me today that I'm his favorite Nicolas in the whole world; something I say to him all the time, I said ahhh, thanks, you mean your favorite Mommy and he said no, I mean your my favorite Nicolas. So I guess I'm his fav Nico.

He was also calling his cars sweetheart so I guess I'll need to stop saying that so much to him, these days anything you say gets repeated a hundred times by Nicolas the talking parrot. I'm loving his age, it is so much fun to see him learn and play and listen to what he has to say. He definitely has a different take on the world than an adult and sometimes its fun to just stop and hear him out.
