Saturday Fun

Today Nico got to go to the store with Papa for some time together. He came home very excited with a new Thomas Train and some donuts for his pregnant Mommy :)

I've been feeling a little more tired and yucky this pregnancy than I did with Nico, maybe because now I have a toddler to chase after. Still, I don't feel as bad as many of the horror stories I hear from pregnant Moms in their first trimester so I'm thankful for that. If you ask Nico where the baby is, he lifts his shirt and points to his belly button, sometimes he does this randomly without being asked and goes around telling people "baby".

Nico also went to a My Little Pony birthday party today, at first I felt bad for him since he is all boy and would be surrounded by pink and girls, but he didn't seem to mind. He enjoyed watching the clown that was there, as long as she didn't try to talk to him. All the kids ran away scared of her at first and then slowly but surely one by one they realized she was pretty cool since she could make balloon animals and face paint.

Gizmo's Big Day

Gizmo turns 10 this year, time goes by fast! A few weeks ago we noticed a large mass on her stomach, this morning she went in for surgery to remove the mass and clean her teeth and pull a couple that were bad. So far she is doing well and at least initially the mass does not look cancerous. She's coming out of the vet a new dog (hopefully with better breath too :)

Starting up!

Since we unfortunately don't live near any family, I decided to go ahead and blog our daily life for our family and friends to follow.
Be patient with me because I have no idea what I'm doing yet :)

Today Nico went to a playdate and had a blast with the other kids, he ended up getting in the toddler bed that was there and covered himself up with a blanket, laid down on the pillow and seemed like he could take a nap right there. Maybe he's ready for a real bed but his Mom and Dad aren't ready to give up the crib yet :)
Tonight while I was putting him to bed, I started singing the same string of songs my parents sang to me as a child, ending as usual with Do Lord. Nico covered my mouth with his hands and started belting in out himself, it was pretty cute and his voice is better than mine anyway!
